A lot of the old ways of doing things are dying more often and faster nowadays. Marketing is just another example of how much the world has changed around us. The old traditional ways of marketing are over and done with, we’re moving in a new direction that focuses more on the person rather than the product. People don’t want to feel like they’re being sold anything by some guy wearing a suit and tie and people don’t want to be disturbed by commercials every 10 minutes. Radio ads don’t reach as many people as they use to, I don’t know anyone who listens to the radio for updates on anything. Newspapers are just collector’s items at this point, the majority of the population has everything they need from music to news right in their pockets and the information they need is only a google search away. With things being as different and as new as they are how do you market to people in today’s society? Content marketing is the new way to market to your target audience. In my opinion, it’s the best way to market to your audience because it focuses on what they like and what they want to see. Content marketing doesn’t make people feel like they’re being sold anything, it puts out something to try and get the person engaged. This can be anything from a video to a picture to a post on social media. Content marketing is tailored around what your target audience might find helpful or interesting, it’s not about the product itself. You have to know your audience what their likes and dislikes are, when the best time to put out your content to get the most engagement, and how often you need to put out content for your audience to see. The best part about content marketing is it takes place right where the majority of the population is nowadays online! I think now is the best time to get out there and get creative with your marketing strategy, content marketing is an open field of opportunity for us as marketers to reach out to our audience to give them the best view of us and the business we represent.
